About the Club

The morgan State University Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) Chapter is a student-led organization with support and guidance from university faculty. 

The chapter serves as a bridge to the human resource community and aims to advance knowledge, understanding, and application of HR principles and practices for students, alumni, and professionals.

Mission

Morgan State University-SHRM Chapter's mission is to serve as a bridge to the human resource community and to advance the knowledge, understanding and application of human resource principles and practices for students, alumni, and professionals.

The Morgan State University -SHRM Chapter is a student lead organization with support and guidance from key university faculty.

The purpose of our chapter is to enhance the growing Human Resources community on Morgan State University's campus.

Purpose

The purpose of the chapter is to enhance and grow the Human Resources community at Morgan State University's campus.

Objectives

Our objectives are to highlight Morgan's Graves School of Business as a destination for top HR talent.

  • Through growing our membership with a 30% increase in membership each semester
  • To promote active participation in chapter events
  • And to have at least 5 members sit for the SHRM-CP
  • Be a resource in the Morgan State University community that delivers valuable HR related information
  • Promote leadership opportunities
  • Provide an opportunity to meet, share and exchange ideas and practices

Meeting Information

The SHRM Club meets:

  • Every second and fourth Thursday
  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
