Snapshot in History

Ranger Challenge

Danielle Gray (Class of 2023), a junior in this photo, leads her Ranger Challenge team through the final physical event and the closing 15 minutes of the Ranger Challenge competition. At this point, Danielle Gray and her team have moved across 30-40 miles under heavy weight, undergone tests of physical and mental toughness, and have not slept or stopped walking/running for 36 hours. Danielle Gray served as the Cadet Battalion Commander of the Bear Battalion in Fall 2022. Ranger Challenge is a grueling two-day competition between the best ROTC Cadets across the country. It is considered the D1 athletics program within ROTC. Cadets in each program volunteer to train and represent their ROTC Battalions over a year-long period. Winners of Ranger Challenge participate in the annual Sandhurst Competition at the U.S. Military Academy against ROTC students across the U.S., military service academies, and international teams from across the globe.
