At the Center for Equitable AI and Machine Learning Systems (CEAMLS), we believe that creating a just and inclusive future begins with investing in people—especially those often excluded from technological advancements. Our Outreach initiatives are designed to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world impact, equipping communities with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration to engage meaningfully with artificial intelligence.

Whether it’s empowering young minds through literacy, sparking STEM curiosity in K–12 classrooms, or fostering dialogue between science and society, CEAMLS is committed to building pathways for equitable participation in the AI-driven world.

The CEAMLS AI Education Teacher Program

The AI Teacher Education Program equips K–12 educators with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to bring artificial intelligence into their classrooms in meaningful and responsible ways.

Through hands-on professional learning, educators explore foundational concepts in artificial intelligence, examine the ethical and social implications of emerging technologies, and develop engaging, standards-aligned learning experiences for their students. Participants also learn strategies for integrating AI into existing subjects and designing challenge-based activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Working with CEAMLS faculty, researchers, and education partners, teachers have opportunities to develop and refine classroom-ready lessons, receive feedback and mentorship, and connect with other educators interested in preparing students for an AI-enabled future.

The program is part of the Children’s Education in Computing Exploration (CECE) Lab and supports CEAMLS's broader commitment to expanding access to high-quality AI education for students and educators.
