Young-Jae Lee is a Professor in the Department of Transportation and Urban Infrastructure Studies at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his B.S. and M.S. at Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea, and another M.S. and Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania, conducting research for optimizing a transit network design problem. His main research focus has been the improvement of transit systems. He has conducted different types of research projects and published papers on improving public transportation systems, including network design, operational efficiency, and ITS application for public transportation. Currently he is a committee member of the TRB Automated Transit Systems (AP040). He is also an associate editor for the Korea Society of Civil Engineering (KSCE) Journal of Civil Engineering and Urban Rail Transit.
