Dr. Jacqueline M. Holland, CFCS, is the Interim Department Director in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences and a certified family and consumer sciences professional. She joined the Morgan State University faculty in 2013. Before coming to Morgan, she worked in Prince George's County Public Schools, located in Maryland. Her various roles in the district included classroom teacher, mentor teacher in which she provided coaching and support for first-year teachers to be effective educators. From this position, she transitioned to administration, where she served as an assistant principal on the middle and high school level and eventually became the supervisor for family and consumer sciences. As the supervisor, Dr. Holland provided leadership, vision, and direction to more than 100 teachers and 11,000 students. She identified program priorities, facilitated professional teacher development, curriculum development, and program development.

Dr. Holland is a past president of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) and the National Coalition for Black Development in Family and Consumer Sciences (NCBDFCS). She is president of the Maryland Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. She is also a member of the International Federation of Home Economics, as well as the Caribbean Association for Home Economists, Inc. She has actively served on several committees in a leadership capacity for AAFCS and the profession including Diversity and Inclusion Chair, Nominating Committee Chair, Annual Conference Planning Committee, Membership Committee, International Home Economics Services, and an executive intern to Carolyn Jackson, executive director of AAFCS. Dr. Holland has presented on numerous occasions at state, national, and international conferences. She holds a certification in Facilitative Leadership and Career Development.
She has received several professional awards in the area of family and consumer sciences including the Outstanding Family and Consumer Sciences Service Award, President Award, Outstanding Visionary Leader, and from Morgan State University, The President's Faculty Award for Service. She is a recent inductee in the Hall of Fame for Havre de Grace High School. Dr. Holland has authored publications in the areas of career development, housing, and family and consumer sciences. Her articles are found in the Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences and the Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal. Dr. Holland is the creator of the YouTube channel "Healthy Abode," a series of videos focused on establishing healthy home environments.
