Joelle holds an MA degree in English with a focus in creative writing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a BA in English from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Her focus of study at Morgan is Creative Writing with a minor in Multicultural and Gender Studies. She is interested in exploring the ways in which culture, gender, and economics intersect in her fiction with influences including Dorothy Allison and Junot Díaz.
