Background:

Jon has 20 years of experience in the Defense Industry, including role as Lead Software Engineer and Project Engineer. In addition, he has accumulated over 15 years of entrepreneurial experience in the rapidly developing field of oyster aquaculture. In this endeavor he has developed widespread contacts among industry, regulators, and elected officials. He has extensive hands-on experience in the cultivation of the Eastern oyster (Crassostrea virginica).

Jon currently serves as the Facilities Manager at the PEARL and is responsible for all aspects of the physical plant, motor pool, and research vessels. He has extensive knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, powerplants and power transmission, gasoline and diesel engines, inboard and outboard motors.
