Message from Program Director
Architecture is primarily founded in place - a place, obviously, the place where construction happens. But deeper thinking about Architecture explores also "place" as such: the cultural environment for which architecture is created. Morgan State University's Graduate Program in Architecture encourages students to bridge these two meanings of the word and to nurture their proficiency in the techniques of professional practice.

The Master of Architecture program is a professional degree program, fully accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), and leads to the opportunity for licensure as an architect within the United States. Morgan's NAAB-accredited professional degree may be sought via different tracks.
- For college graduates with degrees in other disciplines, without previous preparation in Architecture, we offer a 90 credit track, which can be completed in as few as six semesters.
- For college graduates with pre-professional degrees, like Morgan's Bachelor of Architecture & Environmental Design (BSAED), we offer a 60-or-more credit track, which can be completed in as few as four semesters.
- For high-school graduates or community college students, Morgan's undergraduate BSAED program offer pre-professional preparation for the M. Architecture degree, as well as an accelerated path leading directly to a 168-credit track towards the accredited Master of Architecture degree.
Our program is dedicated to the working student and strives to make professional education in architecture both accessible and affordable. With enthusiastic support of many of the region's best-known architectural firms, our program includes for-credit opportunities in internships as part of the curriculum.
