Morgan's Computer Science Department wins Google Hackathon FIRST PLACE

Dear President Wilson,
I am delighted to mention that in the Hackathon event last Saturday organized in the Google DC offices, a team of undergraduates from Morgan's Computer Science Department, got the FIRST PLACE. I think that this is a wonderful achievement.

Also, a second team from the Computer Science Department of Morgan got an honorable mention.

Several teams from various HBCUs had participated in the hackathon event (including Howard and Hampton)

About 45 students from Morgan's computer science department participated in the Google Hackathon last weekend in DC.

We would like to thank profusely, Mr. Ujjwal Dasgupta, the Google engineer-in-residence in Morgan during the entire Fall 2016 semester who went along with the Morgan teams to the Hackathon, coached and encouraged them tremendously. Also, we would like to thank profusely Ms. April Curley of Google for her tremendous coordination and support for the past six months or so.

We would like to congratulate our students for this wonderful achievement.

Sincerely,
Prabir Bhattacharya, Ph.D.
