Dionne Thorne is an accomplished professional with over 15 years of experience in instructional design, leadership, curriculum development, quality assurance, and online teaching and learning.

As a scholar and practitioner, Dr. Thorne holds a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design for Online Learning. Additionally, she has a Master of Arts in Instructional Systems Development, a Master of Arts in Government, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Howard University. She has designed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses.

Dr. Thorne is passionate about strategic planning, instructional design, online teaching, adult learning, coaching, quality assurance, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEIB) initiatives.

As a leader in the field, Dionne is actively involved in professional associations such as the Online Learning Consortium, the Maryland Distance Learning Association, and the Quality Matters Instructional Design Association. She holds certifications from the Online Learning Consortium and Quality Matters Program, reflecting her commitment to excellence in online education.

Dr. Thorne has received several accolades for her contributions to the field, including the Diversity Recognition Award from the Johns Hopkins University Diversity Leadership Council, the Instructional Designer of the Year award from the Maryland Distance Learning Association, and the Adjunct Instructor of the Year award from The Community College of Baltimore County.
