ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Spring into Research

This page provides step-by-step instructions for submitting your abstract for Spring Into Research Week. All students must carefully review submission requirements, formatting guidelines, and the submission process before uploading their abstract. Submissions are reviewed by faculty and require mentor approval prior to acceptance. Please use the resources in the right-hand panel to access formatting examples and the submission portal.

Prepare → Get Approval → Submit → Review → Present

✅ STEP 1: Prepare Your Abstract

  • Must be ≤ 250 words

  • Include:

    • Introduction

    • Objective/Hypothesis

    • Methods

    • Results

    • Conclusions

  • Follow formatting requirements (see right panel)


✅ STEP 2: Obtain Mentor Approval 

  • Mentor must review before submission

  • Submission triggers automatic approval email

  • No approval = no presentation eligibility


✅ STEP 3: Submit Your Abstract

  • Upload as Word document only

  • You can submit ONLY ONCE

  • Select:

    • Research category

    • Presentation type (Poster, Oral, etc.)


✅ STEP 4: After Submission

  • Abstract is reviewed by committee

  • Placement (poster/oral/3MT) is assigned

  • Notification sent via email on or before April 4, 2026. 


⏰ DEADLINE 

All abstracts must be submitted by 5:00 PM, March 27, 2026
