SPRING INTO RESEARCH WEEK V

APRIL 13-17, 2026
"Celebrating Research, Scholarship, Creativity and Innovation
at Morgan State University"
SPONSORED BY THE OFFICE OF UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH, THE GRADUATE SCHOOL. THE GRADUATE STUDENT ASSOCIATION, AND THE STUDENT RESEARCH CENTER.
Spring into Research is a dynamic, week-long showcase celebrating undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative inquiry across the university. The event features student presentations, faculty-led discussions, and interactive sessions designed to highlight the impact of research on academic growth, innovation, and career readiness. It provides a collaborative space for students, faculty, and partners to engage, share ideas, and strengthen a culture of research excellence.
The week-long event will feature the 30th Annual Undergraduate and Graduate Research Symposium (in-person poster and virtual oral presentations); an awards presentation (student presentations will be judged by faculty members as well as by qualified attendees); and Student Research Center activities.
The Annual Graduate Research, Interdisciplinary Network, and Development (G.R.I.N.D.) Conference, hosted by the Graduate Student Association, will also take place this week. The conference will feature workshops and seminars (sponsored by the Graduate Student Council). This year's them: #TheImpactExpo. "Graduate research doesn't just analyze the world, it changes it." #TheImpact Expo is a modern and innovative space where graduate students will show how their research is making a real difference in the world. #TheImpactExpo will highlight how graduate research connects real-life issues, from education to healthcare to politics, technology, and economics. The goal of the #TheImpact Expo is to show that graduate students are engaging in meaningful research that matters- not just within the confines of classrooms or labs, but in ways that extend far beyond, shaping communities, industries, and the world at large.
The Student Research Center (SRC) will host interactive, student-led sessions designed to introduce undergraduates to research and creative inquiry. Through workshops, hands-on activities, and peer engagement, students will explore how to get involved in research, build foundational skills, and connect with opportunities that support their academic and career pathways.
The 2nd Annual Three Minute Thesis Competition (sponsored by the School of Gradaute Studies, will alos be featured. What is 3MT? An 80,000 word PhD thesis would take 9 hours to present. Your time limit.......3 minutes!!!! The 3-Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition which was originally developed by the University of Queensland in 2008. It challenges graduate students to present their research concisely to a non-specialist audience in three minutes, using only a single static slide. The primary objective is to enhance students' academic, presentation, and research communication skills. More information about this competition can be found in the Poster, Oral and 3MT presenation guidelines tab.
All events, except where noted, will take place on the RingCentral virtual platform. To register for this event, please visit here. If you've participated in a past Spring into Research Week, you should be able to use the same login credentials.
