The Connect Program

If you have applied to Morgan State University but were not admissible based on your high school GPA and standardized test scores, there is a viable alternative designed just for you! Your current academic record may not accurately reflect your ability or potential. That’s where the Connect Program comes in! The Connect Program is intended for applicants living in Maryland or Washington, DC.

As a Connect program participant, you will begin your college career at any Maryland community college, enrolling in courses you will later transfer to Morgan*. We connect you with the community college liaison and monitor your progress to ensure you stay on track. While studying at the community college, Connect program participants will be invited to experience campus culture at Morgan State through a series of curated events designed to provide program participants with the opportunity to engage with MSU students, faculty, and staff. Connect participants must attend at least one offering per semester.

Begin tracking every course you take at your Maryland community college with ARTSYS, the University System of Maryland's official transfer planning tool, which helps you ensure every credit moves you closer to your Morgan degree.

ARTSYS is free, easy to use, and built specifically for students like you who are transferring from a Maryland community college to Morgan State University.

With your ARTSYS account, you can:

• Browse Program Transfer Guides that show the recommended first 60 credits toward a bachelor's degree at Morgan State University.

• Explore course equivalencies between your Maryland community college and Morgan State to see exactly how your courses will transfer.

• Share your transfer course plan with your Morgan State Connect Program Advisor to stay on track each semester.

Why this matters for Connect Program Students:

To reapply to Morgan State University as a transfer applicant, you must complete 24 or more transferable credits with a community college GPA of at least 2.5. ARTSYS helps you plan strategically from day one — so you know which courses count, which ones don't, and exactly where you stand each semester. Remember, developmental and remediation courses are not transferable, and Connect participants may transfer in only in the Fall semester.
