Federal Work Study

The Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) at Morgan State University (MSU) is a federal program that provides financial assistance to students through employment opportunities. The FWSP has been established to provide on and off-campus job opportunities for students during and between periods of attendance. These jobs must be suitable to the scheduling and other needs of the employed student(s). FWSP must reinforce the educational program or vocational goal of the student. As such, the positions listed through FWSP must be with non-profit or profit employers offering opportunities to currently enrolled students.

The Federal Work Study office provides part-time employment opportunities for undergraduate students in our community. This office acts as a referral service that advertises federal and non-federal jobs.

For on-campus jobs students have the oppurtunity to seek employment positions with a department of their choice. Students will have to go through an interview process for employment consideration. For all other assignments, students may contact the work study office in person. The Work Study Office may refer students to departments that have job openings per notification from departments however the department will make the final decision whether or not to employ the student.

Determination of eligibility is based on regulations and confidential information regarding the student's financial status. Students awarded must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and must be a matriculated student at the university.
