Application Qualifications

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

The University Counseling Center’s practicum training program is designed for graduate students who are currently enrolled in a Ph.D. or Psy.D. Program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology that has been approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) and are seeking their first year of practicum training experience. Master's level graduate students who will be in their second year of their graduate program are also encouraged to apply.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should submit the following materials for consideration: 

  • Letter of interest that includes:
    • Theoretical orientation and clinical interests
    • Individual counseling/therapy experience
    • Psychological testing experience (if applicable) 
    • Specific interests in training at MSU 
  • Current resume/vita 
    • Two letters of recommendation in PDF format from the following: ➢ Major academic advisor or Training Director
      • Professional supervisor familiar with your work performance
    • Official transcript of all graduate credits
