Mission Statement
The Mission of the Morgan State University Writing Center is to be a welcoming space that enhances the literacy skills of our students and other members of the Morgan community who seek input and welcome feedback. We aim to empower writers and presenters across disciplines by providing individualized support, collaborative learning opportunities, and readily accessible and relevant resources. We prioritize critical thinking, written communication, and creativity. We strive to distinguish ourselves nationally and internationally.
Vision Statement
The Morgan State University Writing Center aims to help our university achieve our strategic goals that include creating a community of confident, creative and skilled Morgan State University writers who use communication to achieve academic, professional and personal success. More specifically, The Morgan State University Writing Center aims to:
- enhance our institution's research productivity by aiding in scholarly development across the university
- foster a culture of collaboration, so students, faculty, and staff can engage in constructive dialog to strengthen the writing center’s clients ability to speak, read, write, research, and think critically
- integrate innovative teaching and learning practices that support speakers of all languages and diverse learning styles
- promote lifelong writing and communication practices
