Public Health Program


Welcome to the Morgan State University Public Health Program, located within the School of Community Health and Policy (SCHP). An education in public health at Morgan State University will equip students to serve communities in an empowering and rewarding way. Students will be prepared to join the cadre of public health professionals who provide responsible and responsive leadership in the face of unique health challenges social and cultural contexts. Consistent with Morgan State's designation as Maryland's Public Urban University, the program focuses on urban health issues.

The unique contribution of the Program is to produce practitioners committed to reshaping the ethics and practice of public health by grounding research, policy and program implementation related to urban minority and underserved populations in the fundamental principles of community engagement, collaborative leadership, cultural respect and responsiveness and social justice.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Public Health Program is to prepare leaders, who will generate new scientific information designed to better understand and solve urban health problems and develop and advocate policies that enable urban, minority and underserved populations to attain optimal health.

Accreditation
Morgan State University's Public Health Program, which offers the master of public health (MPH) and the doctor of public health (DrPH) degrees, is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).
