Maryland National Guard State Tuition Waiver

The Maryland National Guard State Tuition Waiver is applicable only when taking credit, undergraduate, or graduate courses. Each institution has its own rules that govern the number of seats available and the number of credit hours eligible for a tuition waiver.

All classes are held at Maryland National Guard locations and are available to all Guard members with a 25% or 50% tuition waiver, regardless of space available. Professional courses are not eligible for STW. *Can now be used for Trade Schools in partnership with the Maryland Army National Guard.

Maryland Army National Guard members attending Morgan State University are eligible for an "upfront" 50% tuition waiver of 6 credit hours per term for a maximum of 12 credit hours per academic school year. To get your waiver applied and processed, follow the directions identified below:

1. Download the Maryland National Guard App from either the Google Play Store or Apple Play Store. Submit your request for MD NG STW assistance. Once approved download the actual signed MD NG State Tuition Waiver Form and submit it to veterans@morgan.edu. 
2. You can also submit your STW to the VES team via the upload option within the mandatory Military Funding Request Form that you MUST complete for any term you are attending and choose to utilize this benefit.
3. Submit the original copy of the STW form to the MSU Bursar's Office with a valid Military ID Card for processing.
4. Ensure that there is additional funding available on your account to suffice for the remaining uncovered balance after the waiver is applied.
