Student Health Insurance Requirements

Morgan State University is pleased to offer our students and their families a Student Health Insurance Benefits (Plan) that complies with the student benefits requirements under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act at an affordable premium.

All full-time under graduate students taking 12 or more credit hours and J-1 Visa Exchange Students and scholars are automatically enrolled and billed each semester for the MB- Plan when registered.  Students who have other comparable health insurance may elect to waive out the Student Health Insurance Plan.

To waive the student health insurance click onto www.morgan.edu/studenthealthinsurance and select Student Waiver on the left side of the page. The fall waiver period is July 2020 through September 5, 2020.

Part-time, graduate students and students participating in the Nexus program with the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) are eligible to enroll in this health benefits plan. Graduate students completing their thesis are also eligible to enroll on a voluntary basis.

To enroll in the Student Health  Insurance Plan, visit www.morgan.edu/studenthealthinsurance  during the open enrollment period, August 10,2020 - September 5, 2020. The waiver period has been extended to Monday, October 12, 2020.
