Student Health Insurance Requirements
Morgan State University is pleased to offer our students and their families a Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) that complies with the student benefits requirements under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act at an affordable premium.
All full-time undergraduate students taking 12 or more credit hours and J-1 Visa Exchange Students and scholars are automatically enrolled and billed each semester for the SHIP when registered. Students who have other comparable health insurance may elect to waive out of the student health insurance plan.
To waive the student health insurance visit www.morgan.edu/studenthealthinsurance and select Student Waiver on the page's left side. The Spring waiver period is January 1, 2021, through February 12, 2021.
Part-time and graduate students enrolled at the university and students participating in the Nexus program with the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) who have made satisfactory financial arrangements with the Office of the Bursar are eligible to enroll in the student health insurance plan. Graduate students enrolled and completing their thesis are also eligible to enroll on a voluntary basis, once satisfactory financial arrangements are completed.
