Center of Microwave, Satellite, and RF Engineering (COMSARE)
The Center of Microwave, Satellite, and RF Engineering (COMSARE), is a major research center that has an established legacy in the development of microwave and millimeter wave communication technology. COMSARE’s research group focuses on the development of standard and custom device models for high frequency transistors, and components, the design of high-speed, low-power and high power monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), and engage in the development of advanced CAD tools to enhance device modeling capabilities and processes.
Center of Excellence in Tactical and Advanced Communication Technologies (CETACT)
CETACT is a consortium of researchers, faculty and partners who integrate academic and research programs for the design, implementation, and test & evaluation of advanced communication technologies and systems.
Engineering Visualization and Research Laboratory (EVRL)
EVRL develops tools, technology and techniques that provide insight into complex data and concepts by performing research in computational engineering modeling, simulation, visualization. Specific capabilities include: engineering simulation, modeling and controls, complex algorithm development, complex network visualization, portable computing development, advanced display technologies and UAS and avionic control and software systems development.
Center for Advanced Energy Systems and Environmental Control Technologies (CAESECT)
Develops fundamental technology to improve energy utilization across a wide range of industries (Waste Management, Alternative Fuels/Renewable Energy, Computer Simulation and Numerical Modeling). In education, it will impart a cross-disciplinary approach to students at all levels. In industrial collaboration, it will work with member companies to develop new methods for advanced energy systems design and environmental control technologies.
Wireless Networks and Security (WiNetS)
Primary focus on Integrated Network Enhanced Telemetry regarding Radio link protocol and Mixed Network Modeling.
Center for Signal and Sensor Processing (SIGSENS)
Conducts research and provides signal processing /sensor solutions in the form of mathematical analysis, hardware, software development and algorithm derivation and development.
Semiconductor Center for Electronic Devices and Circuits (SCEDC)
Provides quality research and expertise in relation to device modeling, process simulation characterization of advanced semiconductor materials. The SCEDC focus is on fundamental component level device development in relation to amplifier circuit design.
High Performance Computing Consortium
Conducts research in the area of computational electromagnetics. HPCC is in the forefront of developing algorithms that are used in 2D and 3D solvers. These solvers are used for analyzing the field solution behavior in guided wave structures and radiating systems (antennas). Methodologies may be extended to higher frequencies for applications to fiber optic technology and optical communications.
Software Defined Radio and Spectrum Management Lab
This facility researches and develops solutions for special purpose radio systems and spectrum management. The primary thrust is directed at the development of an automated radio characterization testbed for the test and evaluation of software-defined radio platforms. Another thrust is directed at developing highly skilled candidates to support future global scale electromagnetic spectrum operations.
