Baltimore SEMMA at Morgan State University
The NASA Science Engineering Mathematics and Aerospace Academy (SEMAA) is a national innovative project designed to increase participation and retention of historically underrepresented K-12 youth in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM. The program delivers hands-on/inquiry-based K-12 curriculum that is aligned to the National Math, Science, and Technology standards.
The Summer Academy of Mathematics and Science
The Summer Academy of Mathematics and Science (SAMS) is a rigorous academic enrichment program designed to foster excitement, among high school students, in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Students reside for five-weeks on the campus of Morgan State University and attend mathematics, computer science, English, and professional development classes. The ultimate goal of the SAMS program is to increase the number of students from underrepresented communities who pursue math and science-related majors in college and, ultimately, math and science-related careers. However, SAMS welcomes any student who is passionate about math and science, is motived to excel academically, and wishes to spend an exciting summer learning with a group of like-minded peers.
