SCMNS Faculty Bring Home University Awards
Throughout the 2019 Fall Semester, Morgan has recognized SCMNS faculty for their outstanding contributions to the University with an impressive number of awards.
Dr. Mingchao Cai, Associate Professor of Mathematics, received the 2019 Dr. Sandye Jean McIntyre, II International Award. This award recognizes faculty who demonstrate an extraodinary commitment to gloabal learning and international understanding, and who promote international programs at Morgan at the highest level.
Dr. Christine Hohmann, Professor of Biology, received the 2018-2019 Iva G. Jones Medallion Mantle Award. As one of the highest honors granted to Morgan faculty, this award recognizes excellence across the areas of teaching, research, service, leadership, and character.
Dr. Yuejin Li, Assistant Professor of Biology, received the University Appreciation Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching from President David Wilson for the 2018-2019 Academic Year. This award recognizes faculty who have made significant contributions in teaching, mentoring, and advising students, and who have made significant efforts to improve their teaching effectiveness.
Dr. Viji Sitther, Associate Professor of Biology, received the University Appreciation Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research from President David Wilson for the 2018-2019 Academic Year. This award recognizes accomplishments in the areas of publications, grants, patents, and other professional development.
Dr. Md Rahman, Associate Professor of Computer Science, and Dr. Sitther were recognized by Morgan's Office of Technology Transfer as 2019 Innovators of the Year. This award celebrates faculty who have developed innovations that have the potential to benefit society, that improve over existing technology, and that have commercial potential.
