Dr. Fasil Abebe and Dr. Pumtiwitt McCarthy presented reserach at NOBCChE Regional Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA.

Drs. Fasil Abebe and Pumtiwitt McCarthy travelled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to attend the Northeast / Midwest NOBCChE Regional Meeting. While there, they had the opportunity to present research that they had completed in their various areas of expertise. Their presentations were:

Dr. Fasil Abebe: "Rhodamine Based Turn-On Sensors for Metal Ions and Nerve Gas Mimics in Aqueous Media"

Dr. Pumtiwitt McCarthy: "Biochemical Assay Development for a Neisseria Meningitidis Capsule Polymerase"

The Northeast and Midwest regions of the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) was a joint regional meeting that was held at the University of Pittsburgh. The meeting was co-hosted by the University of Iowa and the local Pittsburgh Student NOBCChE chapter. The theme was "Unifying, Collaborating, and Building STEM Success".
