The Thesis, Dissertation, & Doctoral Capstone Submission Process
Hello Masters and Doctoral candidates! Congratulations on reaching the final stages of your manuscript and successfully defending your thesis or dissertation, or completing your doctoral capstone! It is time for you to start working with the School of Graduate Studies to submit your manuscript for final approval, copyright, and publication. This is a multi-step process that requires you to review and submit four forms to the School of Graduate Studies.
The entire gradETD process is electronic. Please do not hand-deliver or mail any thesis, dissertation, or doctoral capstone manuscript content to the School of Graduate Studies. If you have any questions, please email gradETD@morgan.edu for assistance.

Fall 2026 Thesis, Dissertation, and Doctoral Capstone Submission Deadline
NOTE: The ETD process for the Fall 2026 semester will begin on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. You can begin the ETD process by emailing gradETD@morgan.edu.
To be considered for Fall 2026 graduation, your thesis or dissertation defense must be completed, or your doctoral capstone project must be formally approved, at least two weeks before the School of Graduate Studies' submission deadline. For the Fall 2026 semester, the deadline to complete a thesis/dissertation defense or to receive final doctoral capstone approval is Friday, October 2, 2026. This timeframe ensures there is sufficient time for planning, manuscript review, and final approval by the School of Graduate Studies.
IMPORTANT: Any thesis or dissertation defended after October 2, 2026, or any doctoral capstone project approved after this date, will not be reviewed and approved by the School of Graduate Studies in time for Fall 2026 graduation. Manuscripts completed after this deadline will be reviewed during the Spring 2027 semester.
The Fall 2026 deadline for submission of theses, dissertations, or doctoral capstones to the School of Graduate Studies is Friday, October 16, 2026, at 3:30 pm EDT. No exceptions!
Spring 2027 Submission Deadline- Monday, March 22, 2027, at 3:30 pm EDT. No exceptions!
Thank you, and we look forward to reviewing your brilliant work!
