About Us

The Morgan State Graduate Student Association (MSGSA) is dedicated to the enhancement of the graduate experience at Morgan State University. The organization has been established to serve as a foundation for building unity, support, & academic excellence among graduate students as well as the greater Morgan State community. Dr. Kevin Bradley serves as the MSAGSA's staff advisor, supporting its initiatives.

Purpose
The purpose of the MSGSA is to serve as the voice of graduate students on the Morgan State campus. The organization will represent the concerns and interests of our students, encourage, recognize, and assist all graduate students academically and socially.

Mission
The mission of the MSGSA is to represent and support the interests of Morgan State's current and future graduate student community by supporting scholarly activities and providing leadership, service, and social opportunities.

Goals
The goals of the MSGSA are:

• To promote and encourage community service within the Morgan State and Baltimore community.
• To establish a strong rapport among faculty, staff, and administrators.
• To disseminate information to members pertaining to academic, financial, and social needs.
• To promote excellence in educational instruction, research, and presentation of graduate work.
• To establish a support network among the Morgan State graduate student community.

G.R.I.N.D. Conference 

The MSGSA hosts the annual G.R.I.N.D. (Graduate Research, Interdisciplinary Network, and Development) Conference each April. For the past three years, it has been part of the Office of Undergraduate Research's Spring into Research Week, providing graduate students with valuable opportunities to showcase their work. The conference features panel discussions, workshops, and oral/ poster presentations, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and professional growth. 

The 2026 G.R.I.N.D. Conference was held on April 13 - 17, 2026, and centered around the dynamic theme: #TheImpactExpo. 

"Graduate research doesn't just analyze the world; it changes it."

#TheImpactExpo is a modern and innovative space where graduate students will show how their research is making a real difference in the world. This isn't your typical academic conference. #TheImpactExpo will highlight how graduate research connects real-life issues, from education to healthcare to politics, technology, and economics. The goal of the #TheImpactExpo is to show that graduate students are engaging in meaningful research that matters- not just within the confines of classrooms or labs, but in ways that extend far beyond, shaping communities, industries, and the world at large.
