CARMA/BrownBag Series

Brown bag series meeting

GSBM CARMA/BrownBag Series is a platform for Morgan's research community to exchange research ideas and learn about cutting-edge research practices. Through several noontime sessions, faculty and PhD students benefit from the following programs:

1. Brown Bag Presentations: these are semi-formal presentations about research being conducted by faculty and PhD students. These sessions give the PhD students a chance to learn more about the research the faculty are working on. They can also rehearse an upcoming dissertation defense. These sessions help the faculty and PhD students to keep their research project moving forward (nothing better than a deadline!) and to receive valuable feedback. Attendants are invited to discuss, question, and suggest possible avenues for improvement, as well as bring up relevant theories, contacts, etc. All Morgan faculty and PhD students are welcome to present and attend these sessions.

2. Workshops: Workshops provide a forum for faculty and PhD students to learn about different research practices. Faculty or invited guests will run the workshop. All Morgan faculty and PhD students are welcome to present and attend these sessions.

3. CARMA sessions: During these sessions, videos from CARMA (Consortium for the Advancement of Research Methods and Analysis) will be displayed and discussed. CARMA is an interdisciplinary consortium devoted to helping faculty, graduate students and professionals learn of current developments in various areas of research methods and statistics. Only GSBM faculty and PhD students can attend these sessions. For more information on CARMA, visit: https://carmattu.com/
