Fall Hall Closing & Check-Out Information

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2022 @ 11:00 P.M. 
VISITATION WILL END THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8th
 

Twenty-Four (24) Hour Quiet Hours for finals begin @ 12:00 A.M. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2022 and ends with the closing of the residence halls
@ 11:00 P.M on DECEMBER 15th.

During Quiet Hours, all voices and noises must be maintained at a level that confines the sound to your own room.  Noise in public areas should be kept to a minimum.  Please look out for one another and respect the rights of others that will be studying.

You must leave the halls within 24 hours of your last exam or by 11:00 P.M. on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2022 - whichever comes first, NO EXCEPTIONS.

You must schedule a time to check out with your assigned RA/RD. Each RA will have a check out sheet posted for you to sign up for a check out time.  The RAs will come to your room and properly check you out.  You must be available and ready to leave at this time.  If you are not available and/or ready to leave at the time you have chosen to be checked out, you will be charged an improper check out fee.  If you do not schedule a time to be checked out, you will be charged an improper check out fee.  Your building staff person will note any damages, problems and/or missing furniture on your Room Condition Form (RCF).

The room must be swept and mopped. All trash must be removed and taken to the dumpsters, not the indoor/outdoor trash cans.  Your personal refrigerators are to be defrosted and cleaned, with all perishable items removed.  For apartments, bathrooms and kitchens must be cleaned, including tubs, showers, toilets, sinks, refrigerators (all perishable items must be removed, and inside of the refrigerator cleaned), ovens and stovetops.  Food left remaining in the refrigerator may be charged to all residents of that apartment. 

DAMAGES - As members of the MSU residential community, students are responsible for the care and upkeep of their rooms and common areas in their respective halls.  As indicated in the Residence Hall Agreement and on the RCF, students are responsible for the condition of their room and for any damages or losses that may occur during their occupancy.  Any damages or missing items in the room and/or building will be charged to you.  Charges for damages and /or fines will be applied to your Student Account as a hold.

All room/apartment door keys must be returned and signed for with your Resident Assistant or Resident Director at the time of check-out.  We will not accept keys after the halls close on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15THThe cost of any key cores changes because you did not return your key will be charged to your student account.
