Shellfish Hatchery Manager and Extension Specialist

Brittany Wolfe is the Shellfish Hatchery Manager at the PEARL as well as a Maryland Sea Grant Extension Specialist. She manages the shellfish research hatchery, algal production facility, and supports other research projects being conducted at the PEARL. In addition to the hatchery work, she is a Maryland Sea Grant Extension Specialist with the objective to support the growing aquaculture industry in Maryland through sharing knowledge of shellfish production and grow-out methods, public and stakeholder education, transfer of scientific research, as well as cultivation of new aquaculture and fisheries species.

Previously, Brittany has worked at the Shellfish Research Hatchery at UNCW during her master's, as well as the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) as the polyploid specialist at the Aquaculture Genetics and Breeding Technology Center (ABC).
