Office of Undergraduate Research
Undergraduate research is defined as "an inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate student that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to the discipline" (Council on Undergraduate Research [CUR], 2020). Aligned with Morgan State University President Wilson's Strategic Plan - Growing the Future, Leading the World - the newly created Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) reinforces Strategic Initiative 5 of Goal #1 (Enhancing Student Success). The measurable benefits of undergraduate research on student academic, personal, and professional development can be qualified and quantified. Thus, it is our responsibility and honor to cultivate student success through innovative approaches to enhancing undergraduate research - meeting the diverse needs and interests of Morganites across all disciplines.
The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Research is to promote and support a culture of faculty-mentored scientific, entrepreneurial, and creative inquiry within the undergraduate community at Morgan State University (MSU).
The Office of Undergraduate Research offers high-impact academic programming, experiential learning, and graduate school/career-readiness opportunities for all students at MSU who wish to enhance their education by engaging in undergraduate research.
