Research Rookies

Research Rookies Program

Start your research journey with confidence.

The Research Rookies Program is an introductory professional-development experience that helps Morgan State University undergraduates prepare to pursue faculty-mentored research. Students receive guidance as they explore research, build foundational skills, and learn how to take their next steps toward meaningful research engagement.

Who should participate?

Research Rookies is designed for students from all majors who are curious about research and have little or no previous research experience.

What will you gain?

Participants will:

• Develop a clearer understanding of undergraduate research
• Explore research interests and opportunities
• Strengthen research-readiness and professional skills
• Learn strategies for connecting with potential faculty mentors
• Prepare for future research experiences

The next step in your research journey

Research Rookies serves as an entry point into the Office of Undergraduate Research’s student-development pathway. Students who complete the program are better prepared to pursue research opportunities and advance to other OUR programs.
