Our courses incorporate timely and essential readings and case studies that prepare students for equity-oriented professional praxis (i.e., the integration of theory and critical theories into student affairs practice). Faculty leverage our network of scholar-professionals to engage students in real life case studies. Students work with their faculty advisor to craft a personalized internship plan to align with their professional goals and work/life schedule. Our students hold internships in meaningful, student-facing roles under the mentorship of trusted professionals. Students have completed their internship requirement at Morgan State University, other institutions in the Baltimore/DC area, or at destination institutions across the globe.

Program Requirements
The program consists of three parts, thirty (30) semester hours of graduate coursework (beyond the bachelor’s degree), 6 credit hours of practicum/internships completed over two semesters, and the completion of a Student Affairs Professional Portfolio (SAPP). Note that for professionals with 3 or more years of relevant professional work experience, one practicum/internship can be substituted with an elective or other research experience.
