The Master of Science (MS) in Educational Administration and Supervision at Morgan State University is designed to prepare talented educators for leadership roles that shape the future of schools and communities. Grounded in equity and excellence, this program equips teacher leaders to step into positions such as assistant principal, curriculum supervisor, or central office administrator. Students have opportunities to analyze case studies, participate in simulations, and interact with current school leaders.

Field Experience

The program requires a practicum  of 280 hour school-based experience that is personalized to the student and his/her current school assignment.  The Practicum experience allows the Aspiring Leader candidates to bridge theory into practice by connecting the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL) to the day-to-day work of a school leader.

Faculty Expertise

Our faculty are former and current school principals, assistant superintendent, or superintendent of schools.

Leadership Experience

Our program provides an opportunity for Aspiring Leader candidates to conduct an action research project or problem of practice related to a current issue in his/her school that will lead to a significant and sustainable change in the building

Program Requirements

The MS in Educational Administration and Supervision consists of 33 credits (11 courses), typically completed in 3 years of part-time study with two courses per semester. Coursework includes leadership, supervision, and curriculum development, culminating in a 280-hour practicum that connects theory to real-world leadership practice. The program concludes with a capstone project and ePortfolio, preparing students for career advancement and Maryland Admin I certification.

  • Ms. Candis Fields, Class of 2024, completed her Maser’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Morgan State University and was promoted to a Dean of Students in Charlotte-Mecklenburg School.
  • Mr. Kevin Jennings, Jr. Class of 2011, earned his Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Morgan State University and was appointed principal of Rossville Elementary School, one of the newest schools in Baltimore County Public Schools. 
  • Ms. Teri F. Lewis, Class of 2023, completed her Admin 1 Certificate at Morgan State University and was promoted from a Consulting Teacher to Assistant Principal in Baltimore County Public Schools.

Whether you are an in-state, out-of-state, or international student, you may be eligible for Graduate Funding. We also offer two types of Graduate Assistantships: Teaching Assistantships (TAs) and Research Assistantships (RAs). Both provide special learning opportunities in exchange for a stipend/salary and Tuition Award. In addition, by simply filing your FAFSA each year, you will be able to participate in Federal Plus Loans and Federal Direct Loan Programs. With proper planning, going back to graduate school is more than possible.
