Our Baltimore location is a fantastic base for field based studies. The city is our laboratory and many of our classes get students out into the fabric of Baltimore and working with the city’s many diverse stakeholders, organizations and agencies. Field studies also bring students to New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Boston and other cities.

Program Requirements
The MCRP degree requires a minimum of 48 credit hours, typically completed in two years of full-time study. Students take courses spanning urban theory, planning methods, and applied fieldwork, with electives available in areas such as housing, transportation, environment, and economic development. While the program does not have formal tracks, it emphasizes flexible course selection and project-based learning. No thesis is required; instead, students complete capstone experiences that engage directly with planning practice.

Whether you are an in-state, out-of-state, or international student, you may be eligible for Graduate Funding. We also offer two types of Graduate Assistantships: Teaching Assistantships (TAs) and Research Assistantships (RAs). Both provide special learning opportunities in exchange for a stipend/salary and Tuition Award. In addition, by simply filing your FAFSA each year, you will be able to participate in Federal Plus Loans and Federal Direct Loan Programs.
