Veteran Services

As a "military friendly university" Morgan's Veterans Engagement team wants to help build its reputation as a place where veterans are taken care of academically, physically and socially. As part of our on-going initiatives to provide a well-rounded fit for our veteran students, we are constantly developing new ways to create an environment of sensitivity and understanding of veterans needs, while publicizing partnerships and veterans resources.

Some of the endeavors that we have currently implemented specifically for veteran students on campus include:

Veterans Orientation Day

To provide veterans benefit and resource information to incoming and continuing student veterans, their spouses and dependents.  Acclimation to on-campus services, programs, curriculums and community development projects.

Veterans Priority Registration

Designed to give veteran students the opportunity to organize their program's curriculum, register for needed classes and have first choice selections to ensure that they are on track and graduate on time.

Military Appreciation Events

Designed to acknowledge all veterans around the State of Maryland for their services to the nation and our community.  We place a specific emphasis on our Morgan student veteran population and their families.  It's celebrated around the Veterans Day holiday and we invite distinguished veteran contributors to share in the festivities as we honor them with Morgan memorabilia. Our future goals are to extend the festivities into the Spring and Summer semesters.

Scholarship and Hiring Fair Event

Identify funding and administer scholarship program information, as well as updated access to on-campus on-the-spot employment opportunities for all student veterans, spouses, and their dependents.

Ice Cream Social

Specifically for student veterans and their family members; to notify veterans each semester of important University information, veterans-related events, mentoring opportunities, tutoring proposals, fun, games and socializing.

Distance Learning/Distance Education

Assist with enrolling students in workforce training and development opportunities to advance their career.
