TESTING REQUIREMENTS

As the spring semester comes to an end, the University has adjusted its COVID-19 testing schedule for the summer.

  • From May 23 – June 4, testing days will be Monday, May 23, Tuesday, May 24, and Thursday, June 2.
  • From June 6 – August 5, testing will be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

Additional details on COVID-19 testing for the fall semester will be provided at a later date.

Morgan State University continues to protect the cave by implementing a testing program for unvaccinated individuals. On-campus students and employees with medical or religious exemptions are required to submit to COVID-19 testing at the University twice per week (Tuesday and Thursday). Vaccinated students and employees may be required to test if asked as part of larger campus monitoring efforts. The University Health Center and/or Office of Human Resources will provide guidance on this situation.

SCHEDULING A COVID-19 TEST

COVID-19 TESTING HAS MOVED TO MONTEBELLO B-200. Testing days are Tuesday and Thursday from 9 AM – 3:30 PM. Students and employees can schedule their on-campus COVID-19 test at https://myhealthportal.morgan.edu/ If you need assistance with scheduling a COVID-19 test, contact covidtesting@morgan.edu.

Individuals with Approved Exemptions: Individuals required to participate in twice weekly testing must schedule and complete testing throughout the entire fall term. Testing days for required individuals are assigned as Mondays and Thursdays.

Close Contacts of Positive Individuals: If you have been identified as a close contact of positive individual who tested on campus, you will be required to quarantine and test 5 days after exposure. After the close contact receives a negative test result, they will be able to return to normal campus operations.

  • Individuals who have confirmed COVID-19 within the past 90 days are not required to quarantine or test.
  • Employees and off-campus students should NOT come to campus to test if they are symptomatic.

Individuals with COVID-19 Symptoms: On-campus students should contact the University Health Center to schedule a COVID-19 test and isolate until they receive their test results. Off-campus students and employees should isolate at home and get tested prior to returning to campus. Individuals can contact their Primary Care Physician for testing options or utilize free testing sites: Baltimore City Testing Locations and Maryland Testing Locations.

Effective February 14, 2022: Unvaccinated individuals who are part of the testing protocol and have tested positive, will still continue to test after returning from isolation.

  • Note: some individuals, who tested positive within the past 90 days, may still test positive since the virus may still be detectable in their system.
  • If you receive another positive test within the 90 day period and are not showing symptoms, isolation will not be required. Additional guidance will be provided by the University Health Center or Human Resources, as needed.

TEST RESULTS

COVID-19 test results are uploaded in Point & Click at https://myhealthportal.morgan.edu/. Results are typically available within 24 hours. If you test negative, no further communication occurs. If you test positive, a member from the University Health Center will call you to inform you of the positive result.
