FALL 2021 TESTING REQUIREMENTS
Morgan State University’s COVID-19 testing program continues to protect the health and safety of our community. For the fall semester, on-campus students and employees with medical or religious exemptions are required to submit to COVID-19 testing at the University twice per week.
Vaccinated students and employees may be required to test if asked as part of larger campus monitoring efforts. The University Health Center and/or Office of Human Resources will provide guidance on this situation.
SCHEDULING A COVID-19 TEST
COVID-19 TESTING HAS MOVED TO MONTEBELLO B-200. Students and employees can schedule their on-campus COVID-19 test at https://myhealthportal.morgan.edu/ If you need assistance with scheduling a COVID-19 test, contact email@example.com.
Individuals with Approved Exemptions: Individuals required to participate in twice weekly testing must schedule and complete testing throughout the entire fall term. Testing days for required individuals are assigned as Mondays and Thursdays.
Close Contacts of Positive Individuals: If you have been identified as a close contact of positive individual who tested on campus, you will be required to quarantine and test based on your vaccination status.
- Fully Vaccinated Individuals will be required to quarantine and test 3-5 days after exposure. For close contacts of someone who tested positive in the MSU testing program, the testing schedule is as follows:
- IF the individual tested positive on Monday, the close contact will return to campus on Thursday to be tested only. After the close contact receives a negative test result, they will be able to return to normal campus operations.
- IF the individual tested positive on Thursday, the close contact will return to campus on Monday to be tested only. After the close contact receives a negative test result, they will be able to return to normal campus operations.
- Unvaccinated Individuals will be required to quarantine and test 14 days after exposure.
Individuals with COVID-19 Symptoms: On-campus students should contact the University Health Center to schedule a COVID-19 test and isolate until they receive their test results. Off-campus students and employees should isolate at home and get tested prior to returning to campus. Individuals can contact their Primary Care Physician for testing options or utilize free testing sites: Baltimore City Testing Locations and Maryland Testing Locations.
NOTE: Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 3 months and are not exhibiting symptoms are not included in the regular testing protocols since the virus may still be detectable in their system.
COVID-19 test results are uploaded in Point & Click at https://myhealthportal.morgan.edu/. Results are typically available within 24 hours. If you test negative, no further communication occurs. If you test positive, a member from the University Health Center will call you to inform you of the positive result. Additional information can be found at What to Expect After COVID-19 Test.
