The CASA Academy is a five-week summer alternative admissions program. CASA Academy students are required to attend the five-week program as a condition of their admission to the University. Students must successfully complete the program in order to gain admission to the University. Successful completion means that the student has earned a minimum grade of "C" or 70% in all of their CASA Academy courses. CASA Academy courses include Mathematics, English and Critical Thinking. Students will also be introduced to a strengths-based orientation seminar designed to help build students' awareness of their natural talents.

CASA Academy is an academically intense and rigorous residential program. The 2026 program dates are Sunday, June 28th, and end on Saturday, August 1st. Participants' primary purpose and goal in participating in CASA Academy are to improve their skill development in the identified core areas in order to gain admission to the University.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions refers students to CASA Academy based on their high school GPA and/or test scores. Once referred to the program, you must participate and pass CASA Academy in order to be admitted to Morgan State University. We accept 142 participants on a first-come-first, serve basis. Students must submit/complete ALL items on the CASA referral letter and acceptance checklist in order to reserve their space in the 2026 CASA Academy program.

CASA Academy Registration Checklist

1. Complete the CASA Academy Interest Form and submit the first semester of Senior Year Transcripts.
2. Complete the CASA Academy Participation Agreement (Once accepted into the program after completing step one, you will receive more information via email regarding the link).
3. Submit $800 non-refundable payment (two non-refundable payments of $400) for meals (3 meals per day Monday through Friday and 2 Meals on Saturday and Sunday for 5 weeks) before the May 29th deadline.
4. Submit Health Entrance Certificate and all other Health forms. The Student Health Portal opens May 11, 2026, and medical clearances must be completed and submitted by June 5, 2026. Please click here to log in to your Student Health Portal. Once you've completed all required documents, the University Health Center will review and approve your Medical Clearances.
5. Apply for housing AFTER you have successfully made your complete non-refundable $800 payment to completely secure your spot in CASA Academy.

The cost to participate in CASA Academy is $800, full and partial payments are non-refundable. This fee covers the cost of any three (3) meals per day for the 5-weeks of CASA Academy (3 meals per day Monday through Friday and 2 Meals on Saturday and Sunday for 5 weeks). During CASA Academy, students DO NOT pay for tuition, housing, or books.

All payments submitted for CASA Academy are non-refundable. This includes the partial payment of $400 and full payment of $800.

Yes. Once the Office of Undergraduate Admission refers a student, the student must participate in CASA Academy in order to be admitted to the University. The student must complete CASA Academy with a "C" or 70% in all of their CASA Academy courses.

• It takes approximately seven days for IT to activate your Morgan email from the date of your confirmation email once fully paid. Your Morgan email can be found in your initial admission email or letter. Your temporary password information can be found here: https://www.morgan.edu/technologyfaq. 
• The first letter of your first name is capitalized + the first letter of your last name in lowercase + your 8-digit student ID number + two exclamation marks.

• The Student Health Portal opens May 11, 2026, and medical clearances must be completed and submitted by June 5, 2026.

It is imperative to apply for housing after you have submitted your complete non-refundable payment of $800 for CASA Academy. Do not wait until after CASA Academy to apply. To find out more information on how to apply for housing, visit www.morgan.edu/reslife.

Yes, students must live on campus during the CASA Academy Program. The University provides on-campus housing during the 5 weeks.

No, students will be randomly assigned roommates of the same gender. Students will receive their residence hall assignments on the day of move-in, Sunday, June 28th.

Students are encouraged to be comfortable while learning. Please be mindful of the setting and dress appropriately while attending classes, workshops, trips, events, etc. Below are a few tips to help you dress successfully for the college setting.

• Reserve lounge attire such as pajamas, bonnets, durags, slippers, etc. for the residence hall setting.
• Do not wear clothing or accessories that contain offensive language, or images.
• Refrain from wearing clothing that reveals visible undergarments.
• Participate in Morgan Mondays by wearing business casual attire.

Of course, this list does not cover all items. Please use your discretion when determining if your attire is appropriate for the college setting and outings. If your attire is deemed inappropriate by CASA staff, you will be asked to change clothes.

Students are encouraged to participate in Morgan Mondays. Bring at least 4 professional dress attire for Morgan Mondays and the Closing Ceremony.

Yes. Students who fail to adhere to the Morgan State University and CASA Academy Student Code of Conduct or the Rules of the program will be immediately dismissed. During CASA Academy, students are not subject to the Judiciary process.
