Hamidah Famuditimi is an ambitious scholar, Maryland native, and senior undergraduate student. She is currently majoring in political science and minoring in biology. As a consecutive Dean's List Award recipient, she maintains a 3.7 GPA. Hamidah has recently been selected as a 2017 Fannie Angelos Scholar for Academic Excellence by the University of Baltimore School of Law. She has a passion for community enrichment and community-based participatory research. She is an ASCEND Biomedical Research Scholar and is currently working on a research project that examines the effects of parental divorce on African American first-time college students.

Hamidah plays an active role on campus and is a member of many organizations, including President's Leadership Circle and Golden Key International Honor Society. After graduating with her B.A in Political Science, Hamidah hopes to continue on to graduate school and pursue a J.D/M.P.H degree. She believes that with prayer and dedication, anything is possible. Hamidah aspires to be an attorney and hopes to travel the world in order to address public health issues in disadvantaged countries. She lives by the motto, in the words of Marcus Garvey, "One God, One Aim, One Destiny." In her spare time, she enjoys reading literature written by philosophers such as Henry David Thoreau and Immanuel Kant.
