Morgan State University Faculty Member Delivers Keynote at United Nations for Inaugural International Wellness Day
Morgan State University continues to expand its global footprint as one of its distinguished faculty members took center stage at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City for the inaugural observance of International Wellness Day.
Observed for the first time on April 15, 2026, International Wellness Day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly to promote holistic, accessible, and affordable approaches to physical and mental health. Initiated by the nation of Nepal, the global observance underscores the connection between wellness, peace, prosperity, and sustainability, while encouraging preventive, lifestyle-based practices to address rising non-communicable diseases worldwide.
Representing Morgan, Benjamin Welsh, Ph.D., associate professor in the School of Education and Urban Studies, delivered a keynote address during the landmark event. His invitation reflects his growing influence in advancing scholarship at the intersection of wellness, innovation, and global engagement. For more information, click here.
