DEPARTMENT OF POLICE AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Animals on Campus
Dogs and other animals which may cause Morgan community members reasonable
apprehension of harm are not permitted on the Morgan State University
campus or on University leased properties.
The only exceptionsto this notice will be as approved in writing by
the President or other University officials designated by the President.
Violators should be called to the attention of the Department of Police
and Public Service-Morgan State University at 443.885.3103.
This notice covers, but is not limited to, dogs such as:
- Pit Bull Terriers
- Doberman Pinschers
- Rockweilers
- Staffordshire Terriers
- German Shepherds
- American Bulldogs
The notice also covers, but is not limited to, pets such as:
- Reptiles (Snakes, Lizards, etc.)
- Large Spiders
Hazing
The State of Maryland, in Article 27, Section 268 H, defines "Hazing"
as, "doing any act or causing any situation which recklessly or intentionally
subjects a student to the risk of serious bodily injury for the purpose
of initiation into a student organization of a school, college, or university."
"Violation constitutes misdemeanor; penalty - A person who hazes a student
so as to cause serious bodily injury to the student at any school, college,
or university is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, is subject
to a fee of not more than $500, or imprisonment for not more than 6
months, or both." "Consent of a student is not a defense. The implied
or expressed consent of a student to hazing may not be a defense under
this section. (1985, ch. 153)."
Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather. The administrative decision regarding
classroom activities and support operations will be announced on the
Morgan State University's radio station, WEAA (88.9 FM), the official
Station for accurate information. Also, information may be provided
on local radio stations, some of which include: WBAL (AM/FM), WCAO (AM/FM),
WFBR, WWIN, WGBR and WEBB; on the University's main telephone line,
443.885.3333; and on Morgan's Web Page (www.morgan.edu).

PHYSICAL PLANT DEPARTMENT
Students are encouraged to provide assistance in the maintenance of
University facilities. Be alert to maintenance problems and report them
immediately as follows:
- Residence Halls - RA, Residence Director or the Director of Housing,
at 443.885.3218
- McKeldin Center - Director of the Mckeldin Center at 443.885.3120
- Dining Facility - Manager of Business Services at 443.885.3065
Academic Buildings, Administrative Buildings, and Grounds - Report
to the Physical Plant Department on extension 3320 during normal working
hours of on weekends and holidays, report via the Police Department
extension 3103.
