Dr. Umaru Bah is a Fulbright Associate Professor in the Department of Strategic Communication at Morgan State University. He holds a B.A. with distinction in English, French and Linguistics from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, an M.A. in French from Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. with Distinction from Howard University.

Dr. Bah specializes in data for entrepreneurship, civic engagement and sustainable development, with focus on Africa and the African diaspora. His 15-year knowledge and experience in these areas include teaching courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels; curriculum development and assessment; publication in peer-reviewed scholarly journals; blogging; invited-guest lectures; conference and workshop development, and presentations at national and international academic and professional conferences and institutions.

Among the numerous honors and awards that he has received are the Hawthorne Dissertation Award, the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research & Scholarship, and the U.S. Fulbright Scholar Award.
