Professor Pia Winters Jordan is an assistant professor in Morgan State University's School of Global Journalism and Communication. She joined the faculty in August of 2008. Her classes have included electronic news writing, reporting, media studies, senior seminar/capstone, broadcast production practicum, internship, multimedia journalism and producing newscasts. She is also one of the advisors to the Morgan State University Association of Black Journalists. Her work in institutional and commercial television and radio news spans more than thirty years. She is an alumnus of the University of Maryland, College of Journalism (B.S.) and American University's School of Communication (M.A.). During her career, she has been a mentor to high school and college journalists. She has written, anchored and hosted more than 1,000 radio/television newscasts and public affairs programs. In addition to teaching, she is the project director of the Tuskegee Army Nurses project, a multi-media documentary on the nurses stationed with the Tuskegee Airmen in Alabama during World War II (TuskegeeArmyNurses.info). She also seeks an agent to represent her award-winning screenplay. She is the wife of a pastor and mother of a son and daughter. Her husband and daughter are graduates of Morgan State University.
