About UMEC

The Urban Mobility & Equity Center (UMEC) is federally funded as a Tier 1 research center through the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $1,402,200 grant to the three-university consortium led by Morgan State University. In addition to Morgan, the consortium includes the University of Maryland and the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Awarded in 2016, the grant is one of 35 five-year grants awarded under the University Transportation Center (UTC) program.
