Dr. Efe is a structural engineer and applied researcher who has conducted research in bridge and earthquake engineering using advanced state-of-the-art finite element software to understand their 3D behavior through both continuum and discrete loading stages. He has also worked on projects that focus on transportation infrastructure projects such as high performance green bridges, durability assessment of prefabricated bridge elements and systems and stainless steel prestressing strands and bars for use in prestrssed concrete girders. He has also mentored and advised undergraduate students on senior projects and research.
Since joining Morgan State University, Dr. Efe has been passionate about teaching, publications or scholarly activities and quality and process improvement. Primarily, he actively engages undergraduate and graduate students on top-notch skills required to meet the nation's infrastructure needs through quality design, research and practice

Research Interests : Earthquake Engineering, Linear and Non-linear Finite Element Application In Structural Engineering, Failure Analysis of Steel And Steel-Concrete Buildings and Bridges, Vibration Control of Structural Systems, Protection of Structures, Buildings, Bridges, and other Structures Against Hazards and Attacks, Materials Behavior and Constitutive Modeling
