Dr. Grose joined the Morgan State University in 2012 to pursue his doctoral research degree in structural Engineering. He worked at the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) as Transportation Engineer I (TE-I) in 2008. He continued his employment with SHA until 2015 as Transportation Engineer III (TE-III) in the Department of Construction Inspection Division (CID).Over his years with SHA, Dr. Grose Oversaw severe bridge repair jobs in the state of Maryland. Project description: Inner and outer loop sequence of construction, abutment sequence of construction, retaining wall, noise Abatement barrier, drilled shaft for caisson, boring and drive test, MOT set up to insure compliance with the MUTCD guidelines checked rebar placement, concrete pouring; Paving (base-coarse, super pave, compaction for Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), temperature of HMA, and Pavement Marking), curing of concrete, formwork, Roadway (cutting and filling, excavation, undercut for bad soil, Class I, II&III riprap, CR6, GAB, HMA.), Pipes (inlets, manholes, channels), Landscaping (seeding, topsoil, matting), Erosion and Sediment (E&S) silt fence, temporary gabion outlet structure, dewatering, informs Statewide Operation Center (SOC) for lane closer. He also worked in the Office of Material and Technology research lab (OMT) in 2011, where he evaluated fatigue or section loss cracks on existing bridges for sign structures using Non Destructive Testing (EDM notch voltage signal frequency response) and recommended locations to be drilled and/ or grid-out for arresting crack propagation on bridges and overhead sign structures. Dr. Grose also performed quality control and quality assurance (QC/QA) activities reports for manufacturing plants.
