After retiring from Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS), where she served as a teacher and administrator for 34 years, Ms. Alexander rejoined the Department of Teacher Education and Professional Development (TEPD). Prior to retiring from BCPS, Ms. Alexander served as a Reading Specialist in charge of all reading program at BCPS and TEPD. Ms. Alexander earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Master of Science in Elementary Education from Morgan State. She also earned a Master of Science in Reading from Johns Hopkins University. Ms. Alexander currently serves as the advisor for the Kappa Omicro Tau division of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, an international honors society for education majors. She sits on two State Boards, which required an invitation from the governor, the Board for Physical Therapists and the Citizen Review Board for Children.
