Course Requirements:

The required curriculum for completion of the program consists of a total of 12 courses = 36 credits 

  • 5 Bioinformatics Core Courses (15 credit hours) 
  • 3 Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics Core Courses (9 credit hours) 
  • 2 Elective Courses (6 credit hours)
  • Research and Seminar (6 credits)
  • Current Topics in Bioinformatics (3 credits) 
  • Thesis Seminar in Bioinformatics (3 credits) 

Students who have not completed their thesis in the Fourth Semester - to continue their study/research have to take

  • Thesis Mentor supervision (2 credits)
  • Thesis Guidance in Bioinformatics (2 credits) or 
  • Any other (3 credits) course.

Other Requirements:

In addition, students must:

  • Pass Comprehensive Exam and 
  • Defend Thesis. 
  • A student must be registered for the semester in which degree requirements are completed. 
  • Students have up to five years to complete the Bioinformatics Program.
