DC Water Internship Program
The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) Internshp Program consists of both a year-round and a summer component. The year-round program is intended for graduate and undergraduate students studying enigneering and information technology (IT).
College students majoring in liberal arts, engineering, business, IT or legal studies, participate in a 10-week summer program. The summer program includes paid work at DC Water and the opportunity to explore jobs that are in keeping with the participant's area of study. Participants will work 40 hours per week from May to August only. No lodging, transportation, meals or other assistance will be provided. The year-round program is reserved for engineering, biological science and IT majors. This program includes paid work at DC Water during the summer and throughout the school year.
Employment - Up to 20 hours per week of salaried work during the school semester and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
Mentoring - Each participant in the year-round program will be assigned a professional mentor active in Engineering and Information Technology to provide on-the-job guidance and career counseling.
- Must have completed the first semester of sophomore year at an accredited college or university.
- Summer interns must be a graduate or undergraduate student majoring in Liberal Arts, Business, Engineering, Law, Communications or a scientific discipline and have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or better.
- Year-round interns must be a graduate or undergraduate student majoring in Environmental Science or Engineering (Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical and Process Engineering), Chemistry and Microbiology, Health and Safety, and Industrial Hygiene and maintain a 3.0 GPA for the duration of the program.
