Degree Requirements for Students entering After Fall 2014

In addition to the requirements for the chosen major and the General Education requirements of the University, students must complete an additional six (6) Complimentary Studies credits required by all students in the School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences. To qualify for graduation, chemistry majors must also pass the Senior Departmental Comprehensive Examination, must have taken all their junior- and senior-level requirements in the major at Morgan (unless granted prior written permission by the Dean to take courses elsewhere); and must have earned a cumulative GPA average of 2.0 or better and a major GPA average of 2.0 or better, with no outstanding grades below "C" in the major (which includes all courses required for the major and required supporting courses).

Recommended Curriculum Sequence -- The 120-credit curriculum requirement is challenging and extremely rewarding. Students receive a solid base in the skills required in the chemistry field.

Introductory Chemistry Courses -- Each course perquisite and the semester offered is described.

Advanced Chemistry Courses -- Each course perquisite and the semester offered is described.

General Education Requirements -- Morgan's General Education program is a broad network of courses, tests and extra-curricular experiences aimed at ensuring a common core of liberal arts knowledge, skills and collegiate experiences for all Morgan students. The courses which are part of the General Education Requirements have four broad goals, which are based on the principle that General Education is one of the most significant components of undergraduate education.
