Morgan State University made a showing at the Northeast / Midwest NOBCCHE Regional Meeting!

On March 17th and 18th, six students from Morgan State University travelled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to attend the Northeast / Midwest NOBCChE Regional Meeting. While there, they had the opportunity to present research that they had completed in their various areas of expertise. The Northeast and Midwest regions of the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) was a joint regional meeting, Northeast by Midwest 2017 (NExM2017), being held at the University of Pittsburgh. The meeting was co-hosted by the University of Iowa and the local Pittsburgh Student NOBCChE chapter and ran from Thursday evening, March 16th through midday on Saturday, March 18th. The theme for NExM2017 was "Unifying, Collaborating, and Building STEM Success".

Sabreea Parnell: "Synthesis, Characterizations, and DNA-Binding and Cytotoxicity Studies of Tricarbonylrhenium(I)-diimine Complexes of Ibuprofen"

Pierce Perkins: "Rhodamine-Based Fluorescent and Colorimetric Chemo-Sensor for Metals in Aqueous Media"

Treshaun Sutton: "Rhodamine-Based Fluorescent and Colorimetric Chemosensor for Metal Ion in Aqueous Media"
