For Surface Preparations, Aslan Research Group are equipped with an laboratory oven (Model 1320), Chemat Technologies Spin coater (model KW-4A), as well as an array of smaller items: analytical balances; hotplates; pH, conductivity meters; vacuum desiccators; sonic bath and glassware.
Aslan Research Group also has access to a Vacuum Controlled Atmosphere System (glove box) from Vacuum Atmospheres Corp for sample preparations in vacuum or air-free atmosphere.
Optically, Aslan Research Group are equipped with fluorescence and other optical equipment: a Varian Cary 50 Eclipse Fluorometer with HTS and polarizer accessories, an Ocean Optics Jaz High-Resolution Fluorescence Spectrophotometer equipped with an inter changeable 1000/600-micron fiber optic system, in-line filter holders, filters, light sources.
Aslan Research Group also has other optical components such as prisms, lenses, polarizers / beam splitters, filter wheels, doubling/tripling crystals, rotating XY stages, regular band-pass and interference filters, both absorption and reflectance neutral density filters and razor edge filters. Many of these components are housed on two 6*4*1 ft Newport laser tables.

Aslan Research Group has a Time-Correlated Single Photon-Counting instrumentation (TCSPC), a Horiba JobinYvon Fluorolog 3 spectrofluorometer in the ps-second temporal region for the collection of fluorescence and phosphorescence lifetimes. Fluorolog 3 spectrofluorometer is equipped with microwell plate reader, which coupled to the instrument through fiber-optics. The fluorescence data from 100 samples can be collected in 1 minute.

Aslan Research Group has an i-RamanTM spectrometer system is unique for its high resolution combined with field-portability. With performance comparable to large bench-top Raman systems and weighing less than 10 lbs, it's a portable laboratory instrument available at a fraction of the cost to many large footprint Raman instruments on the market today.

Aslan Research Group also has a Coherent Mira 900-F Ti:Sapphire laser, pumped by a 5 Watt Verdi solid-state laser, is available for multiphoton excitation. The Ti:Sapphire laser is close to the Fluorolog 3 spectrofluorometer, which can be used to excite samples.
